Privacy policy

Effective October 17, 2026. Carehaven is an independent senior living directory. This policy covers this website, its enquiry forms and private search-support pilot records.

Information you provide

Forms collect your name, email, optional phone number, message, and the relevant residence or advertising details. Retirement inquiries also collect your relationship to the person seeking care, approximate move timing, preferred contact method and, for tours, a preferred date and time of day. You must consent before submitting. We use this information to respond to your request and administer enquiries. Do not submit medical records or detailed health information.

Where requests go

Requests are stored in a hosted database and visible to the Carehaven site owner through a protected dashboard. When email notifications are enabled, our email provider Resend processes a minimal alert to the Carehaven owner containing the request type, residence and reference number. Visitor contact details and message contents remain in the protected inbox. A submission does not automatically go to a residence. With the consent given on the retirement inquiry form, Carehaven may share your contact information and the details of that request with the selected residence to answer your questions or arrange a visit. A tour request is not a confirmed booking. Consent for an inquiry does not sign you up for marketing. Direct phone calls and links to provider websites are handled by those providers under their own policies.

Private search-support pilot

If you agree to take part in a coordinated retirement search, the owner may record your location and budget preferences, timing, shortlist, community responses, quotes, visits and follow-up actions in a protected case record. An existing inquiry can be used to follow up on that request; it does not give blanket permission to contact additional communities. We record permission for each named community and the specific introduction summary. Direct family contact details are excluded from the coordinated introduction unless separately approved. Private owner notes and commercial agreement terms are excluded from family update drafts. Ask Carehaven to correct a record, withdraw permission or stop follow-up at any time. Information already sent to a community is also subject to that community’s handling practices. Where a referral fee may apply, it must be disclosed before the introduction.

Storage and security

The site uses hosted infrastructure provided through ChatGPT Sites and Cloudflare. Your browser stores saved residence IDs, comparison selections, saved searches and private shortlist notes on your device. Shared shortlist links contain residence IDs so anyone with the link can view those residences; private notes are not included. You can remove saved searches in the directory and erase notes or clear browser storage. Opening the directory map connects to OpenStreetMap tile servers. Nearby-place searches and family directions open Google Maps; a starting address entered for directions is sent directly to Google Maps and is not saved by Carehaven. Planning tools calculate locally; figures entered in those calculators are not submitted to Carehaven. Budget preferences you separately provide for a pilot search are stored in the private case record. A salted hash of a request identifier is stored to limit spam. For active sponsored residence campaigns, we store daily aggregate card-view, profile-click and direct-contact-click counts, grouped by campaign and placement. We do not store visitor identifiers, IP addresses or contact details in these advertising metrics, or use third-party advertising cookies. Counts are approximate and do not identify unique visitors. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals disable this measurement. Reports are available to the owner and may be shared with the advertiser as aggregate counts. External font requests may be made to Google Fonts. Platform and infrastructure providers may process technical logs under their own policies.

Website analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand how pages are used. It may use cookies and collect information such as page views, device and browser details, approximate location and interactions. Google's Privacy Policy applies to its services. The analytics tag is not loaded when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Analytics reports are available to the site owner and are not shared with residence operators.

Your choices

You can remove saved homes using the heart buttons or clear browser storage. Use the contact form to request access, correction, or deletion of submitted information. We retain enquiries while needed to handle the request and business records; the owner can delete requests and cases in the dashboard. Deleting a case removes its shortlist and activity history but leaves the original inquiry until separately deleted. Deleting an original inquiry also removes its linked case.

Google Maps photos and reviews

Where a home has a confirmed Google match, we use Google Maps Platform to display its photos and reviews with source attribution. Google content is fetched on demand rather than stored in our directory database. Loading photos and author images connects your browser to Google image servers. We store the matched Google place ID and the date its identity was confirmed. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to its services.
